Leadership Conference for High School Students at CSJ

Students who have completed their high school junior year in Vermont and neighboring states have the opportunity to participate in a Leadership Conference at the College, July 11-13. High School Guidance Directors have the opportunity to nominate one student from their school who will have completed his/her junior year by the summer of 2008 and have at least a 2.7 grade point average on a 4 point scale. Home-schooled students are encouraged to apply and may be nominated by their parents.

Students selected from the nominees will participate in various seminars and workshops focused on building leadership skills during the on-campus weekend. Guest speakers include Dr. Barbara Sirvis, Girl Scout Council of Vermont President, who will be speaking about the role of women leaders, and Dr. Chris Holland, CSJ Dean of Students, will be speaking about the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

All costs for the students to attend the conference, including lodging, meals, and materials, will be covered. Students participating in the Leadership Conference may apply to be a part of the new CSJ Leadership Program when they graduate high school, but it is not required. The deadline to nominate a student is June 1.
