In conformity with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, as amended, the College of St. Joseph provides students the right to inspect and review their educational records and to insure that such records are not inaccurate, misleading, or in violation of the student’s privacy or other rights.  In addition, the College will not release personally identifiable records of students to any individual, agency, or organization without the prior written consent of the student, except as provided by law.

The College will maintain directory information, which includes the student’s name, campus/home addresses, campus/home telephone numbers, date and place of birth, major field of study, class level, awards or honors received, degrees received, dates of attendance, participation in officially recognized sports, most recent previous school attended, current class schedule, and e-mail address.  This information will be available, at the discretion of College officials, unless the student notifies the College this information should not be released.  Students who wish to deny access to directory information must make such a request in writing to the Registrar within the first two weeks of each semester.  A complete statement of the College of St. Joseph’s policy regarding the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act is available from the Registrar's Office.
