Licensure Requirements
Participants in the program will be considered for licensure recommendation by the Education Division Chair or the Director of Secondary Education in consultation with program faculty, after completion of:
- all required course work with at least a “B” in student teaching and an overall GPA of 3.0.
- a teaching portfolio demonstrating functionality in the general competencies for licensure, the specific endorsement competencies, the Five Standards for Vermont Educators, and the “Vital Results” and “Fields of Knowledge” of the Vermont Framework.
The student must pass the PRAXIS I national teacher test prior to officially entering the Secondary Education Program. The student must pass the appropriate sections of the PRAXIS II national teacher test in order to be admitted into student teaching and recommended for certification.
