Research Interests: general physiology of animals with an emphasis in stress responses and recovery
Rebekah Thomas teaches courses based in the biological sciences including Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, Health, and Nutrition. Her specialties are Mammalian Physiology and Physiological Ecology with particular emphasis in Cellular Physiology and Stress Responses. Dr. Thomas is CSJ’s first full-time science faculty member. Her role at the College of St. Joseph includes the development and implementation of a new major in Health Science, a role she has enjoyed since the fall of 2011. Although tasked with starting a science program, she also enjoys teaching non-science majors and promoting science literacy. Her scholarly activities focus mainly on developing or implementing teaching strategies that improve student learning in the science classroom.
