College of St. Joseph welcomes transfer students in both the fall and spring semesters. Our admissions team is here to help you through the process of transfer credits, financial aid and more.
How to Apply
Complete an Application

Use this application to apply now. You may submit your other materials later if needed.
- The Common Application
Use this application to submit your Common App to CSJ.
Other Application Requirements
- A brief 200-400 word essay explaining more about you and your background.
- All official high school and/or college transcripts.* You can use our Transcript Request Form to make this process easy.
- One academic letter of recommendation.
*These must be sent directly to the college from another institution that bears the official seal of the school and/or the signature of an official.
Transfer students who have been accepted to College of St. Joseph may receive transfer credit for courses that they have passed with a grade of “C-” or above at an accredited institution.* Transfer courses must also be accommodated in the academic program of the student’s choice.
Students may transfer a maximum of 94 credits into CSJ.
*Some courses require a grade of “C” or better in order to be transferred.
To be eligible for a bachelor’s degree, transfer students must complete at least 33 credits at CSJ, 12 of which must be in the student’s major. To obtain an associate’s degree, transfer students must complete at least 15 credits from CSJ, nine of which must be in the student’s major.
CSJ has articulation agreements with a number of accredited institutions.
