Giving to CSJ

The College of St. Joseph’s tradition of academic excellence has been made possible through the financial support of countless alumni, parents, individuals, businesses, and friends. Their generosity has provided the resources which have given CSJ a proud heritage and a promising future.  A brief outline of creative giving opportunities is provided below, but each individual’s circumstances and philanthropic ideas are unique and can be discussed with the CSJ Development Office or the donor’s own financial advisor to determine the best personal application. All gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Annual Fund
Annual Fund gifts benefit every student and professor by supporting a variety of important needs such as scholarships and financial aid to help students afford a private education, faculty development, library acquisitions, technology updates, student activities and leadership programs, and capital expenditures to maintain the college facilities and campus.

Donor Recognition
All donors’ names will be included on the Annual Honor Roll of Donors published in Links, the college magazine.  The names of donors of $100 or more are inscribed on the donor recognition plaques at the college.  Donors of $250 or more also receive a personal invitation to the annual President’s Banquet.  As a guest of the president, this appreciation event includes a cocktail hour in Clementwood and a splendid dinner in Roncalli Dining Hall.  Special recognition awards for longevity and major gifts coupled with an annual report from the president are also a part of the experience.

Planned Gifts
This type of gift is created now, but is not received by the College until some time in the future. Examples of planned gifts are bequests, insurance, pooled income funds, and trusts. Planned gifts can allow the donor to make a substantial contribution to the College while at the same time realizing tax benefits as a result of the gift.

 Endowment Fund
The Endowment Fund assures the future academic excellence and financial security of the College. Donors to the Endowment Fund share and demonstrate the deep belief that the educational traditions of the College of St. Joseph are so important that they must be preserved for future generations. Foremost among the reasons to support the Endowment Fund is the wish to protect and enhance the future of the College of St. Joseph.
