How long does it take? The average time for delivery of an interlibrary loan item is about two weeks. Sometimes we must request the material from several libraries before successfully obtaining it. This, of course, takes longer than the usual two weeks. If you have a deadline beyond which the material will not be useful to you, you must specify that date on the request form.

Costs for ILL borrowing are the responsibility of the individual requesting the material. There is generally no cost for ILL transactions, however, many libraries do charge. Fees range between $5.00 and $20.00. Please indicate below the amount you are willing to pay for your ILL request.

NOTICE: COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, USC) states that libraries are permitted to provide photocopies or other reproductions for specified conditions as long as the material is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship or research." If a patron uses the material in excess of "fair use," that patron may be liable for copyright infringement. The College of St. Joseph retains the right to restrict access to material if it feels access to the material would violate copyright law.
