Federal Bureau of Investigation
Publishes  a series of statistical crime reports and publications, detailing specific offenses and outlining trends that can help you better understand crime threats both nationally and locally.  View their Reports & Publications webpage for in-depth information on terrorism and other subjects.

NACJD – National Archive of Criminal Justice Data
This site Holds over 550 data collections relating to criminal justice. This website provides browsing and downloading access to most of this data and documentation, as well as an on-line Data Analysis System for some of the studies.

National Crime Information Center
The purpose for maintaining the NCIC system is to provide a computerized database for ready access by a criminal justice agency making an inquiry and for prompt disclosure of information in the system from other criminal justice agencies about crimes and criminals. This information assists authorized agencies in criminal justice and related law enforcement objectives, such as apprehending fugitives, locating missing persons, locating and returning stolen property, as well as in the protection of the law enforcement officers encountering the individuals described in the system.

NCJRS – National Criminal Justice Reference Service
A well-organized site of the U.S. Department of Justice with direct access to full-text government documents as well as links to other sites.  This site provides the full text of the National Institute of Justice and other Office of Justice Programs.  Also includes the Office of National Drug Control Policy publications.

Office of Justice Programs
Research is critical to the development of sound criminal justice policy, as well as to the development of advanced technologies that support the work of law enforcement agencies. Sound evaluations of methods and existing OJP grant programs are necessary to ensure the wise expenditure of taxpayer dollars. As the research, development, and evaluation agency of the Department of Justice, the National Institute of Justice is engaged in innovative research and development of 21st century technology that can enhance the work of law enforcement, assist in prosecutions, and serve the cause of justice for victims and offenders.   The Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) is the primary statistical agency of the U.S. Department of Justice. BJS collects, analyzes, publishes, and disseminates information on crime, criminal offenders, victims of crime, and the operation of justice systems at all levels of government. Impartial, timely, and accurate statistical data are essential to guide and inform federal, state, and local policymaking on crime and the administration of justice and to improve the quality of and access to information used for decision making. The BJS Web site provides every publication released by BJS since 1995, with downloadable datasets and spreadsheets, online analytic capabilities, and graphical presentations.

SAMHSA – Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration
One of SAMHSA initiatives is to reduce the pervasive, harmful, and costly health impact of violence and trauma by integrating trauma-informed approaches throughout health, behavioral health, and related systems and addressing the behavioral health needs of people involved in or at risk of involvement in the criminal and juvenile justice systems.

United States Department of Justice
Information about the DOJ, including press releases from the Attorney General. This department is home to most federal criminal justice agencies.
