CSJ Welcomes New Coaches

The College of St. Joseph is pleased to announce the hiring of Ian MacLauchlan and George Dimotsis. MacLauchlan will be taking over the Women’s Soccer program and Dimotsis will be responsible for Men’s and Women’s Cross Country.

Coach MacLauchlan comes to CSJ with 16 years of competitive soccer experience. A CSJ alum, MacLauchlan is very familiar with the Saints and their proud soccer tradition. Ian played three years of varsity soccer at CSJ, ranking in the “top 10” for points each season. He also has three years playing in the State of Vermont’s Olympic Development Program. MacLauchlan, a Rutland High School graduate, won the D1 State Soccer Championship in 2002. When not coaching the Lady Saints, Ian resides in Wallingford and works for Killington/Pico Ski Resorts.

Coach Dimotsis begins his coaching career with CSJ with 18 years of running experience. Dimotsis began his competitive running career at Athens High School in Pennsylvania where he held the 1,600 meter track record. He captained both the indoor and outdoor track and field teams for two seasons and continued his running career at Albright College. Dimotsis, who has several marathons under his belt, including the recent Big Sur Marathon in California, brings a high level of knowledge and experience to the Saints program. “Running has been a major contributor to the hard work, and dedication mentality I apply to my career. I grew up in a small rural town in Northern Pennsylvania where running was a large part of everyone’s exercise regime” said Dimotsis. When he is not coaching, Coach Dimotsis resides in East Wallingford and works for TD Bank.
