Tynan Davis, mezzo, is a versatile singer who has toured with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, sung for The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and this season performed Woodsprite #3 in Opera San Antonio’s inaugural production of Dvorak’s Rusalka with the San Antonio Symphony.

She performs frequently in Texas with the Grammy award-winning choral ensemble Conspirare and SOLI Chamber Ensemble. This season w/ SOLI featured works by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw and Metropolitan Opera-commissioned composer Matt Aucoin.

Tynan enjoyed 3 summers with Caramoor Music Festival’s Bel Canto Young Artist program and made her debut there as Cousin Hebe in HMS Pinafore. In 2012 she made her company debuts with Austin Lyric Opera (Marriage of Figaro), Opera Birmingham (Carmen), Opera Company of Middlebury (Thais), and Salt Marsh Opera (Rigoletto).

In New York, she was selected to participate in Marilyn Horne’s The Song Continues workshop at Carnegie Hall, and for her performance in Vaughn-William’s The Poisoned Kiss with the Bronx Opera, a lovely man at the New York Times described her as “a marvel: a stylish singer and a perky actress whose presence lighted up the stage consistently.” Tynan is a volunteer artist with Sing For Hope, a non-profit using the power of arts volunteerism to transform underserved communities. She is a Texan in NYC who occasionally contributes to online literary publications (The Best American Poetry and Coldfront Magazine) and enjoys fine friends, food, and wine.
