We are thrilled to announce that our Provider Scholars have already contributed more than 100 service hours in the community.
Our students are placed at great area organizations, such as Community Cupboard, Vermont Achievement Center, Mill River Union High School, Rutland County Parent Child Center and Whitehall Elementary School.
There’s a lot more to come from this great group of students. Upcoming events include:
- Participating in the Prevent Child Abuse Walk in Rutland on September 21.
- Soap Bag and Drop (bagging up soap and delivering to partnering agencies), Sept. 27.
- Clean Up CSJ Campus event, Oct. 4.
- Working with Habitat for Humanity, date to be determined.
These students are expected to contribute more than 1,000 service hours this semester alone. Great work everyone!
About the Provider Scholarship Program: CSJ is furthering its mission and addressing national concern over the rising cost of higher education by offering 60 Provider Scholarships for fall 2014. The scholarship for full-time undergraduate students, worth more than $60,000 over four years, incorporates a commitment to academic excellence, personal and professional growth and community service. Tuition, room and board costs are locked in over four years, which means that the direct cost to students decreases over their time at CSJ.
