The College of St. Joseph in Rutland, VT, will be hosting a co-ed youth soccer camp this summer for athletes entering grades three through six. The camp will be headed by CSJ’s men’s soccer coach Ray Fish, and will also feature the Fighting Saint’s women’s soccer coach, Tim Cassidy, and Rutland High School coaches Kirk Abrahamson and Jay Wilson.

College of St. Joseph’s Doug Childs hit the 1,000-point milestone in Tuesday night’s men’s Sunrise Conference basketball game in Rutland. “There’s no quit in them,” College of St. Joseph coach Phil Bartlett said. And that was an understatement. The Saints only dressed seven players, having lost some to ineligibility and standout Tyler Herrington to open-heart surgery. Herrington was at the game on the bench in street clothes.

College of Saint Joseph charged back from a 14-point deficit in the final six minutes of regulation and beat rival Green Mountain College 87-82 in double overtime at CSJ Athletic Center. Doug Childs’ seven points in the second overtime was the beacon that capped a stirring comeback by the Fighting Saints who trailed most of the game and looked less than impressive for 34 minutes.
The College of St. Joseph is pleased to announce the appointment of Ray Fish as Athletic Director. Coach Fish is currently the Men’s Varsity Soccer coach at CSJ and will remain in that role while also serving as AD.

Ortega grew up playing basketball on the playgrounds of New York City. It was a game he fell in love with at an early age, but a game plenty thought he could not play. The guy who looked too much like a football player has played professional basketball in the Dominican Republic where he was MVP of an all-star game and is now piling up the points while getting paid to play in Israel.
