What is counseling?
Counseling provides an opportunity for students to meet with a trained professional to seek solutions to specific problems. Counseling provides a place to be supported and to gain insight on how to tackle life’s challenges.
What happens in a counseling session?
Counseling usually begins with an intake appointment, to better understand the nature of the student’s needs. With a greater understanding of the nature and scope of the problem, the counseling sessions will begin to develop with a plan to address how to alleviate or lessen current concerns. Counseling is a partnership intended to provide students with support and an increased ability to cope. Sessions typically last for about fifty minutes and can be scheduled at a time that fits best with your schedule. Services are confidential and free to all full time students.
Confidentially
Counseling Services considers the confidentially of students information as critical to our work. Our professional staff adhere to ethical and legal guidelines in safeguarding your information. Exceptions to confidently are reviewed with all students during the intake process.
