Areas of support include help with depression, anxiety, stress management, relationship issues, roommate conflict issues, anger management, academic problems, time management, substance use/abuse and many others.
Office Hours
Counseling Services operates on a year-round basis with appointments available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Other times may also be available upon request. Appointments can be scheduled by visiting Counseling Services in Tuttle Hall or by calling 802-776-5256.
What is counseling?
Counseling provides an opportunity for students to meet with a trained professional to seek solutions to specific problems. Counseling provides a place to be supported and to gain insight on how to tackle life’s challenges.
Counseling usually begins with an intake appointment to better understand the nature of a student’s needs. With a greater understanding of the nature and scope of the problem, the counseling sessions will develop with a plan to address how to alleviate or lessen current concerns.
Counseling is a partnership intended to provide students with support and an increased ability to cope. Sessions typically last for about fifty minutes and can be scheduled at a time that fits best with your schedule. Services are confidential and free to all full-time students.
Confidentiality
Counseling Services considers the confidentiality of students’ information as critical to our work. Our professional staff adheres to ethical and legal guidelines in safeguarding your information. Exceptions to confidentiality are reviewed with all students during the intake process.
