Living on Campus
Service to the community is integrated into many aspects of student life at College of St. Joseph. Awareness of our responsibility toward others is part of our Catholic culture.
The college offers many activities for residents. For example, you can attend a semi-formal at a local hotel, take a weekend trip, enjoy a campus beach party in the middle of winter, or participate in a “watch until you drop” movie marathon.
If you prefer outdoor recreation, you’ll find opportunities abound throughout the year. You can snowboard on Killington, hike the Appalachian Trail, swim in one of the numerous lakes in the region, or mountain bike or hike Rutland’s Pine Hill Park.
St. Joseph Hall
St. Joseph Hall is the central building on campus and contains administrative offices, the College Store, laboratories, Giorgetti Library, computer center, faculty offices, classrooms, and the career development library.
The CSJ Athletic Complex offers a 1,000 seat gymnasium, a dance/aerobics room, a weight room, and two racquetball courts.
The Athletic Center is the home of the Fighting Saints intercollegiate teams and serves as the hub for student intramurals. The facility often hosts special events for both the college and greater Rutland community.
Roncalli Dining Hall
The main eatery on campus serves a variety of entrees, soup, salad & sandwich bar, desserts and ice cream. Students, staff and faculty dine in the comfortable dining room or attached deck in the company of good friends.
Tuttle Hall Student Center
The focal point of student life outside of the classroom is Tuttle Hall, the CSJ student center. Tuttle Hall is the hub of activity for student organizations and social activities of a lively student body and faculty. It houses Counseling Services and is the home of Campus Ministry and chapel, which helps nurture the spiritual growth of the CSJ community. Tuttle Hall also features a student lounge and game room, snack bar, meeting rooms, offices, and a 200-seat theater.
