Tina Cornish-Lauria, Executive Director of CAREERS for People with Disabilities Inc. received a Professional Career Recognition Award from Putnam Community Service Network.
Tina is a 1982 graduate of College of St. Joseph.
Tina was recognized for more than 30 years of dedicated service to individuals with disabilities at PCSN’s 27th Annual Awards Breakfast. She has served as CAREERS’ Executive Director for more than two decades and led the agency in placing more than 2,000 people with disabilities in jobs and providing services to thousands of others.
CAREERS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding productive employment for individuals with disabilities.
The PCSN is a program of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Putnam County, N.Y. It holds an Annual Award Breakfast to recognize community volunteers, professionals and organizations that have made a difference in the lives of others.
“I am so honored to receive this award recognizing my long professional career helping people with disabilities reach their full potential.” Cornish-Lauria said. “I’m extremely blessed to be able to perform a job I absolutely love. Over the past 25 years, CAREERS has helped thousands of individuals with disabilities become self-sufficient through jobs in the community and I am proud to have led the agency in providing services that have improved the quality of life for so many.”
Tina was the president of the 1982 graduating class at the College of St. Joseph. She graduated with a BS in Rehabilitation and has worked at CAREERS for People with Disabilities, Inc. in Valhalla, N.Y., for 23 years. She lives in Carmel, NY with her husband of 28 years. They have three boys, ages 23, 20, and 14.
