College of St. Joseph sophomore Alayah Sweeney has received national attention by earning United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Player of the Week. She averaged 18.5 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals over two games this week. The Springfield, Mass. native led all scorers with 22 points in an 89-60 win over #16 SUNY Delhi on Saturday, Feb. 16. She also had 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 1 block against the Broncos. On Wednesday, Feb. 13 Alayah had 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals in a 96-61 victory at Vermont Technical College. The shooting guard leads CSJ in scoring, averaging 18.8 ppg, and is second in field goal percentage (45.6). She ranks third on the team in rebounding with 6.6 and averages 1.6 steals per game. Alayah wears jersey #12 for the Lady Saints.
