College of St. Joseph has named Samantha Perry and Elizabeth Huizenga Students of the Month for March, and Ethan Clifford and Travis Castillo Students of the Month for April. They are being recognized for their academic success, dedication to the college community, and engagement in the greater Rutland community.
Samantha Perry – Residential Student of the Month
Sam Perry is a senior Radiologic Sciences major hailing from Greenwich, N.Y. Perry currently serves as president of Student Government Association, and has worked as a resident advisor. In addition to being active in on campus, she is also active in the community through the Provider Scholarship Program, completing service hours at Rutland Regional Medical Center, the Community Cupboard, and more.
“I chose to attend CSJ because the Provider Program made it affordable for me to attend college,” she said. “The small campus atmosphere made it a comfortable place and I really enjoy the one-on-one interactions with the professors.”
Elizabeth Huizenga – Commuter Student of the Month
Elizabeth Huizenga is a junior Business Administration major from Lincoln, Vt. A former member of the softball team, Elizabeth chose to attend CSJ at the recommendation of a former student. She is also a member of the College’s Provider Scholarship Program.
“I love the Provider Scholarship Program. It is great the school rewards students for giving back to their community,” Huizenga said. “It definitely motivates me to do more.”
Travis Castillo – Commuter Student of the Month
Travis Castillo is a senior Radiologic Sciences major and a transplant of California. Travis is an active member of Student Government Association and the Provider Scholarship Program.
“The Provider Scholarship Program is absolutely amazing,” he said. “I freely admit that I initially only cared about the amount of money I would save. After two years in the program, I have a new appreciation for community volunteering and believe my time spent within the community is what I will cherish most.”
Ethan Clifford – Residential Student of the Month
Ethan Clifford is a junior Criminal Justice major from Hoosick Falls, N.Y. Clifford currently serves on the Student Government Association Senate.
“I chose to study at CSJ because of the small class sizes and the small campus,” he said.
