College of St. Joseph’s Provider Program will be hosting an Operation Gratitude collection drive on Tuesday, October 16 from 8am to 8pm. The community is encouraged to bring care packages or donations of personal-care and handmade items, along with personal letters of appreciation to U.S service members deployed overseas. A collection point will be set up at the College’s Tuttle Hall in Rutland.
Wish-list items include travel-sized hygiene products, playing cards, batteries, gum, hand warmers, puzzle books, small plush toys, and knit or crocheted scarves and hats. For a complete list of wish list items visit the Provider Facebook Page, or email Kimberly.firstname.lastname@example.org.
Established in 2003, Operation Gratitude is a California-based non-profit dedicated to lifting the spirits and meet the evolving needs of the military and first responder communities and providing volunteer opportunities for civilians in America to express appreciation to all who serve. The organization annually sends out over 200,000 care packages.
CSJ’s Provider Program is a service-learning model that combines academic goals with community service in ways that enhance both student growth and the common good. To date, Provider students have completed over 22,000 hours of community service.
