The College of St. Joseph Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of Dr. Jennifer L. Scott as the seventh president of CSJ.
Dr. Scott currently serves as Senior Director of Assessment and Program Accreditation for the Office of Institutional Effectiveness at Union Institute & University in Cincinnati, OH, where she serves on the faculty of the Graduate College. Dr. Scott is also a licensed and board certified clinical psychologist in that community, where she has maintained a private clinical psychology practice since 2005.
“We are really pleased to introduce Dr. Scott to the CSJ and Rutland communities,” said Jay Kenlan, Chairman of the CSJ Board of Trustees. “Dr. Scott is a woman of great intelligence, enthusiasm and grace who we are confident can lead our college into the future.”
Dr. Scott holds a Doctorate and a Masters degree from Xavier University, and a BS from Valparaiso University in Indiana. With a career in higher education spanning over twenty-five years, Dr. Scott has held faculty and administrative positions at Xavier University, Chatfield College in St. Martin, OH, and Brown Macke College in Ft. Mitchell, KY. She has an extensive record of achievement leading initiatives in key areas such as strategic planning, specialized program accreditation and re-accreditation efforts, student recruitment and retention, and diversity. Dr. Scott is certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology.

Dr. Scott replaces Lawrence Jensen, who served as interim president for one year before becoming president in 2017. Jensen announced in February his plans to retire at the conclusion of the 2017-18 year. Dr. Scott assumes the post on June 18th.
