Melissa has taught education courses at College of St. Joseph since 2000 and has supported the mission of the College in many ways. As an alumna, returning to the College as an Assistant Professor in Education has been a fulfilling experience. Her courses reflect her leadership and dedication to the field of Education. She has been an elementary school teacher for twenty years. She is able to offer CSJ students the methodology, pedagogy and current practices associated with teaching in the field. This enables her college students to become lifelong learners which focuses on them continuing “personal and professional growth” in Education and in their own lives.

Melissa is also the first grade teacher at Killington Elementary School. In 2006, she received two awards: UVM Outstanding Teacher of the Year and the CSJ Alumni Recognition Award.
