Jeff Brown joined College of St. Joseph as athletic director in June 2016.
The Schenectady, N.Y. native comes to CSJ from Albany Academy after serving as the principal for the elementary school for the last seven years. Brown has an extensive background in athletics as both a player and a coach.
He has previously coached Columbia – Greene Community College and Schenectady County Community College. Brown also has years of experience on the field as a player for St. John’s University. His ability on the field earned him a spot with the Houston Astros in the 75th round of the 1990 MLB Amateur Draft.
Two years later, Brown was picked up by Detroit Tigers in the 33rd round of the MLB Amateur Draft. He was also an Olympic nominee that year.
He also serves as senior vice president of college affairs/COO, working to support growth and improvement across all departments of the College as well as overseeing programs and initiatives that will help expand the College.
